New 2010 Swift SZ range

by John 22. February 2010 23:56

The Suzuki Swift range has undergone a radical change for 2010. The 1.5 litre has been deleted from the range whilst the excellent 1.3 litre option is now available in 3 trim levels. Along with the rest of the Suzuki range the Swift trim levels feature the new ‘SZ’ designations. These are SZ2, SZ3 and SZ4. The SZ2 effectively replaces the GL trim level that used to be the only available trim level on the 1.3 Swift. The SZ3 introduces air conditioning and front fog lamps as standard for the first time on a 1.3 Swift. The SZ4 replaces the GLX trim level but also adds climate control to the extensive list standard equipment which already included alloy wheels, keyless entry and start, 6 airbags, electric heated door mirrors to name a few.

All three trim levels are available in both 3 and 5 door body styles and are only £120 a year to road tax. The fuel economy is just as impressive as before returning an average of 48.7 mpg.

On the road the Swift is still as fun to drive as it has always been. The electric power steering is responsive and the 1.3 litre engine coping well with all road types. There is very little road noise intruding into the spacious cabin and the Swift’s handling is very nimble.

The new Swift SZ range is available now and prices start from £9190.
